Human subjects researchers Heather Flynn and Laura Steacy discuss tips, tools, and strategies for dealing with proposal development issues with virtual human subjects research. They delve into their own experiences of moving from in-person to virtual platform data collection, and they share their advice for dealing with reviewers and publications using remote data collection.


About the Speakers

Heather Flynn Ph.D.

Heather Flynn, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and Professor and Vice-Chair of the FSU College of Medicine in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine. She is also the Chair of the Women and Mood Disorders Task Group within the National Network of Depression Center. Her research focuses on improved identification and treatment of depression in women, psychotherapeutic treatment for depression around the time of pregnancy, and examining the impact of depression remission on obstetrical and infant outcomes.

Laura Steacy FSU assistant professor

 

 

Laura Steacy, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Special Education at the FSU School of Teacher Education and Florida Center for Reading Research. Research interests include early reading development, early predictors of reading achievement, and interventions for students who have or are at-risk for reading disabilities.
