Finding Funding for Faculty: Pivot Workshop
Program Overview
Identifying prospective funding opportunities is the first step to becoming a successful grant winner. In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to use the most comprehensive funding database available- Pivot COS- and make it work to identify pertinent extramural funding opportunities for you. FSU re-subscribed to the Pivot COS database in early 2014, following its massive overhaul of capabilities. These capabilities include refined searches, grant alerts, grant tracking, collaborator identification, and automated faculty profiles. This one-hour workshop will demonstrate how you can find funding easily- from both federal funding agencies and private foundations- with Pivot.
Please bring your laptop or tablet, Pivot exploration during the presentation is highly encouraged!
This workshop will be led by Emily Hutcheson, MA, Research Development Coordinator for the Office of Proposal Development. It is geared towards new faculty, but anyone is welcome to join, including doctoral students and postdocs. The workshop will take place on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 3-4pm in the Globe (also known as the Center for Global Engagement (CGE)), room 2500.
