Best Practices for Engaging with Clinical Partners

Wednesday, May 14, 2025 | 12:00 - 1:00 PM | Zoom Workshop

Join staff from the Office of Research, including perspectives from Health Research Connections, Clinical Research Advancement, Human Subjects Protections, Research Legal, and Research Development, for a workshop on best practices on engaging with clinical partners for your research. Research relationships are required for successful design and implementation of studies ranging from clinical integration for human subjects research to secondary analysis of electronic health records data. But knowing when and how to appropriately engage with potential partners is essential.

The goal of this workshop is to increase awareness among FSU faculty researchers regarding:

1) Available resources to support their work
2) How to identify and contact the appropriate clinical partner
3) Standard requirements/agreements for clinic, data, or materials access/use in research
4) How to craft grant proposal documents to demonstrate feasibility of the proposed work

We will discuss example cases for how you might engage with clinical partners, including requesting data for feasibility, requesting data for analysis, passive and active recruitment of research participants, observational or evaluation research, and interventional clinical trials. Please bring any questions you may have about FSU's processes. We look forward to this interactive session.
