"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
Preamble to the Constitution of the World Health Organization (1948)
Health is perhaps the best example of the kind of convergent topic, with diverse disciplinary interest, that Collaborative Collision was designed to address.
Collaborative Collision: Health hosted the largest group of potential interdisciplinary collaborators in Florida State University’s history. To maximize the potential number of participants while keeping the event manageable, the event took place over three separate days, each with a different focus. Physical Health focused on researchers working on topics directly related to the condition of the human body, Social Health included the interaction between our social systems and individual health outcomes, and Mental and Emotional Health explored the brain, psychological and emotional well-being, and individual behavior.
