FSU Faculty Mentoring Workshop
The FSU’s Office of Faculty Development and Advancement is hosting faculty mentoring workshops on Friday, September 28th at the Turnbull Center. Please register to attend one or both workshops and also RSVP for lunch!
The morning workshop (10:00 to 11:30) is aimed at those who mentor faculty at any stage of career, including deans, chairs, directors and senior faculty members. “Re-Thinking Mentoring: How to Build Communities of Inclusion, Support, and Accountability” will offer tools for building communities of inclusion, support, and accountability across all career stages. It will address questions such as “How can you work towards providing faculty at different stages of career development meaningful mentoring relationships and
experiences?” and “How can institutions provide effective mentoring for under-represented faculty?”
The afternoon workshop (1:00 to 4:00), “Mentoring 101: How to Get What You Need to Thrive in the Academy”, is intended for assistant and associate professors but all faculty are welcome to attend. The goal of this workshop is to assist faculty members in creating a reliable and strong network of mentors and to give them tools for cultivating successful mentoring relationships.
All participants are invited to a luncheon served between the morning and afternoon workshops (RSVP below).
