Real-Time Simulators for Power Converters

A method for integrating interfaces into power electronic converters (PEC) for Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) environments. The interface consists of software and hardware that allows redirecting signal flow including modulation signals and measurements in the PEC from their traditional path to and from power converter stage models executed in a digital real-time simulator (ORTS). It allows performing CHIL simulations with the actual PEC at the installation location of the PEC, avoiding the need for dedicated and error prone signal conditioning circuitry externally to the native PEC controller hardware.
