Magnetic Materials and Exotic Superconductors
Magnetic materials with novel physical properties are investigated to understand and control interactions at the unit cell level. For this purpose, we engage in the single crystal growth of new materials, using the optical float zone method, as well as Bridgman and flux techniques. Complex materials can be produced as single crystals suitable for structural characterization using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy methods, as well as physical property measurements. Current projects include materials with complex magnetic behavior, chalcogenide superconductors, as well as reduced oxides.
