SUS Research Leaders Meet with New NSF Director
Yesterday, research leaders and government relations officers from the 12 State University System campuses met virtually with NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan to discuss agency priorities. Dr. Panchanathan began his tenure as the NSF chief in June and is currently seeking to engage industry, academia, state and local governments, nations and other federal research agencies in partnerships that will help the agency promote innovation at speed and scale.
In response to a question on the agency's response to the impacts of COVID-19 on research, he explained that the agency is working through ways to mitigate the impact on grantees and on young researchers in particular.
